About the Founder
Grant Shannon is an education and wellbeing specialist and the founder of Dogs Connect—one of Australia’s leading wellbeing dog programs, implemented in over 400 schools and community settings.
With a background in education, behaviour, and trauma-informed practice, Grant has spent years working at the intersection of human behaviour, nervous system regulation, and dog wellbeing. His work is trusted by educators, organisations, and communities seeking a more ethical, effective, and sustainable approach to supporting both people and dogs.
What sets Grant’s approach apart is a clear shift away from “training the dog” toward educating humans. By helping people understand behaviour, regulation, and relational safety, he has consistently delivered outcomes that improve wellbeing, reduce behavioural challenges, and create more balanced, resilient dogs.
